Ogg Vorbis is a new type of audio file which is superior in a number of ways to MP3. Skinflowers are the first Britlinks-listed band to let us know that they've been exploring the format with some live recordings from their recent show in Harlow. Fire Fly's New Drummer (06th Jun)

Fire Fly, who are now well into the process of recording their new album, have just announced Ben Griffiths as their new drummer. Ben is a drum teacher and has settled into the band quickly. He'll be recording drum tracks for the album in the next week or so and the band are hoping for a summer release.

Project Mayhem, a new independent dance act, have just released their debut CD EP entitled Now Is The Time. The EP contains four brand new studio tracks alongside two songs recorded live earlier this year. The EP is available directly from the band for five pounds.

Delirious? at Number 26 (10th Jun)

Delirious' new single Waiting For The Summer has entered the charts at number 26, three places below its mid-week position and, despite more pre-publicity in mainstream channels, the lowest a d: single has entered the charts since the second release of Deeper. The band are currently on tour with Bon Jovi and will be hoping that the attention they receive there will help the single to a strong second week placing.

The Electrics havebeen in touch to let us know they've finished recording oftheir latest album, again produced by Phil Madeira andassisted by This Train member Jordan. This is the firstElectrics album to feature Jim Devlin as a full time bandmember and he describes it as a "big rockin, celtic monsterof a thing". The band's website is currently offline butthey hope to have a new one in place soon.
