Juliet Turner will be doing most of her playing in the UK this year but in preparation for a new album, will be doing a small number of gigs in Ireland. She plans to play in intimate venues, mostly accompanied by guitarist Iain Archer, who played on Juliet's 1996 Let's Hear it for Pizza album, showcasing new songs. Most of these dates will be low key, there will be a minimum amount of advertising, so if you want to attend, you'd be well advised to keep an eye on her website. Forthcoming gigs take in Dundalk, Magheragh, Galway, Johnstown, Mallow and Limerick.

Once again Britlinks is looking for volunteers. This time
we're looking for assistant news editor(s) and a gig
guide editor. The former role would involve checking
through submitted news stories and press releases
every couple of days, adding stories to our news pages
and generally helping us keep pace with the news. The
latter would involve checking through the gig guide
every couple of weeks, removing duplicate entries and
tidying up any problematic entries. There would also be
occasional amendments to be made to entered gigs
and you could be responsible for sending out our gigs
newsletter once a month. We need individuals who
could commit to doing this on a regular basis and at
the moment can't offer any financial reward, though
there may be the possibility of a few free CDs every
now and again. If you're interested please e-mail
webmaster@britlinks.co.uk with some details
about yourself and what you feel you'd bring to the role.

Sounds like there's been a lot happening in the
BottleRockit camp. For "legal reasons", the band have
had to change their name to
My
BottleRockit. The band have also revealed the
identity of their new second-guitarist, Daniel John
Peterson, a 23 year old who has travelled over from
Australia to join the band. The band have spent most of
the year so far locked away in rehearsal rooms
reworking their material with the new four-piece lineup
in mind, ready to hit the road in the coming months as
they tour with the new Oasis Trust roadshow.

Leeds based Bodixa
have had to change their name to star*bodixa. They say
that this is because a London based band called
Boedekka have recently released a single/EP which
has caused some confusion. Bodixa sought legal
advice but decided that since Boedekka have some
commercial advantage it would be advisable to change
their name to avoid confusion.

Busy times in the Psalmistry camp.
Tony Silcott (a.k.a. The Psalmist) has been recording
and producing a range of other artists in his studio
including "MC Dred" who came down with BBC
cameras to film the proceedings, Eskimo
Sunbed and Dropknee whose
single is being profiled on XFm. Tony's debut vinyl
release - RSTJ "Selecta" is reportedly receiving critical
acclaim in underground reviews. Meanwhile, Psalmistry have
added a guitarist to their live set. Mark Cocks, formerly
of Ripcord, has been playing with the band since
Greenbelt 2001. The group have recently been back in
the studio working on the follow up to their All This Noise album.
They promise that the new album will have "a massive
