Blueprints Change (18th Dec)

Mark Parry, guitarist with Blueprint has decided to leave the band to pursue other musical interests. The band say that given Mark's foundational role in their indie/rock sound, his departure may well result in a change of musical direction for them.

Steve Lawson International (18th Dec)

There's a long interview with Steve Lawson, a former indie of the month creator, at the website talkbass.com and more reviews of Steve's album and concerts are springing up around the net. He has confirmed plans to do a number of concerts in California around the NAMM show, as well as more London shows and a couple in France.

Cephas Launch Website (18th Dec)

Surrey pop-punkers Cephas have just unveiled their long-awaited website, including news, gig dates, reviews and a number of MP3s. Still preparing to go into the studio to record their second CD, the band are also keeping busy with a number of gigs in the next couple of months.

The Tribe (19th Dec)

Word has it that the World Wide Message Tribe is no more. With the departure of Cameron Dante to his DJing work, Claire's move towards overseas mission, Collette's new role training evangelists and Deronda's return to the USA, the remaining members have decided to refocus their work and change the group's name to The Tribe. The Message have also just completed the lineup for a new group to work in the schools of Manchester, the as-yet-unnamed group will start schools work soon and would appreciate any suggestions for their name.

Chi2 Record (19th Dec)

Currently finishing off a tour with Moby, during which they have appeared at the MTV awards and the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony with the superstar DJ, the violinist sisters Liz and Sarah Liew who together form Chi2 are planning to set aside January to complete work on their debut album. They've also recently worked with Uriah Heep and Sarah played with Westlife at the Smash Hits awards. The girls can be seen backing Moby on TFI Friday this week and also on a reshowing of Later With Jools.

As If... Return From Norway (19th Dec)

As If... have recently returned from a repeat visit to Norway where they completed a mini-tour. They report the weather as "a tad cooler" than last time they were there but once again enjoyed good audiences. The band and their promoters hope to organise another tour (possibly slightly longer next time) for next year.

IndigoEcho EP (20th Dec)

IndigoEcho have announced that their next release will be a CD EP, again recorded with Room 3 Records. The band plan to record between January and March next year on the island "Mull", just off the coast of Scotland. The band have been approached by the website cdbaby.com about the possibility of playing a few shows in the Seattle area of the USA next summer.

The Secret Archives of the Vatican track "Guru Rabbi Teacher" has been racing up the charts at besonic.com, with over 1000 downloads during the first half of December. The band's series of compilation CDs, made up of tracks from various artists listed at besonic.com, have also been selling well recently.

Fono Relocate (20th Dec)

Fono are planning to move to San Diego for at least a year from April. The band have been enjoying considerable success in the USA, having toured with acts including the Goo Goo Dolls and the Foo Fighters and are hotly tipped by a number of industry insiders. The band have been working on some demos recently to pitch to record labels. It is hoped that they will play some European dates before making the move.
