Supervision Raring To Go (18th Nov)

Flowlife! (18th Nov)

Fabulous indie-popsters Flow have unveiled their new website at: http://www.flowlife.com. Worth checking out just for the "propaganda" section, its also worth looking into the band if you're looking for a hooky indie-pop kinda thing. After some scares about vocalist Helen's voice the band are now back to recording and hope to have something for producer Peter Van Hooke to start pushing to record labels very soon.

Delirious? Keeping the Momentum (18th Nov)

The next release from the delirious? stable will be a book, Purepop?, charting the growth of the band and their continuing mission to take their chunky-pop songs to the wider public. The band's recent showcase at London's Shepherd's Bush Empire was quite a success both with the fans and the 120 or so music industry insiders who were present. The new album is to be entitled Mezzamorphis and Furious? Records are currently in talks with Virgin Records... more news as it comes in. The official Delirious? website is now up at http://www.delirious.co.uk but unfortunately makes such extensive use of Shockwave that many of us can't get in.

New Dawn for the Web (18th Nov)

Continuing with websites, New Dawn Music, a UK based record label and music publisher, has just announced the opening of their new website. The label has already released critically acclaimed albums by Loose Goose and As If... with Michael Cameron's to follow soon.

Produced in association with the Britlinks the site features new, reviews, photos, biographies, and sound bytes of its artists as well as the opportunity to order product over the web with a credit card.

Continuing The Race (18th Nov)

We were told that the original lineup of Race would not gig together. We were told wrongly. This jaz-tinged pop act from Bournemouth will be bringing together the original lineup again at Christmas for at least one show, maybe more. Their CDs continue to sell fast and good reviews are coming in along with radio play. Find more about Race in the band index.

It seems to be the fortnight for web page launches. M!D have just lauched theirs at http://www.btinternet.com/~mid. M!D are one of the first bands whose product will be made available through J C Distribution.

Reformation at New Dawn (02nd Dec)

Reformation, the much acclaimed release from Secret Archives of the Vatican is now available with a credit card via the New Dawn Music website for only �10, as well as being distributed through J C Distribution. See the New Dawn site at http://www.britlinks.co.uk/newdawn/. The other new development at the New Dawn website is a sound clip from the new As If... album.

Greenbelt Silence Ends (02nd Dec)

The strange silence from the Greenhouse, Greenbelt festival HQ, was ended recently with the announcement that the festival made a small profit from the 1998 event and that plans are getting under way for the new site and new focus for 1999. A �12 discount is available on tickets for those who book before the new year. Contact the Greenhouse for more information on that. The new site will have a variety of indoor and outdoor venues and accommodation options. See a feature article at the Phantom Tollbooth for more information on the future of Greenbelt. The committees to organise the new FreeState event are being put together at the moment. More news on this later.

Why? In February? (02nd Dec)

Madcap speed-folksters, Why? hope to have their next studio album on the shelves in February. Produced by an ex-member of Fat and Frantic, the newer material seems to draw from slightly more diverse influences, with the changes accentuated by the addition of keyboards and removal of violin from the lineup.

Blueberry's Recording Plans (02nd Dec)

Littlehampton's other indie-popsters, Blueberry, were recently rumoured to be in talks with Sony. It appears that Sony were only interested in lead vocalist Cathy Burton. The band plan to record another EP independently and hope to record an album in the summer, possibly with a label.

Tribe Of Dan (02nd Dec)

Tribe of Dan will be doing a gig in Peterborough on 14th December with a whole string of other artists, for the Musicians Union. The show will feature an 'all star jam' with members of: Midget, The Kinks, Ezio and the Prodigy. The band are writing some new material and planning a string of gigs early next year. Mojo magazine rightfully described their latest album, The Bootus Red as "blistering". More information through the band index.

Christmas Rock Night on CD (02nd Dec)

The well established Christmas Rock Night in Germany will this year be recorded by ICC Records for a compilation live album to be released in the new year. Christmas Rock Night was the forum that led to US record deals for Split Level, Fono, and The Electrics. This year's event will see the final performance of Grammatrain as well as appearances from a wide range of other artists from several countries.
