Delirious? album and single plans (16th Sep)

There has been much uncertainty about the actual release of the next delirious? album and when we should see the next single (it was originally expected to be out now). Here's the latest from their press office: "The album was begun in January of this year, and is due for completion in time to be on the shelves in March (with the first single cropping up in January). The transatlantic tripping clearly cut into the studio time, but there is another reason for the long gestation of the second album: the desire to get it right." Some of the new material has been beginning to appear in the live set, to positive reaction from fans. That "transatlantic tripping" has also led to good sales figures for the band, and a surprise decision: "Thanks to the superb work of Sparrow - the label Delirious? are signed to in America - King Of Fools has made a serious impression on the US charts and they played to over 175,000 people during the summer. The band were also offered a 70 date American support slot on the DC Talk tour. Despite the chance of getting acquainted with over 500,000 potential new fans the band were 100% sure that it was the UK that would receive their full attention. Extensive travel and a little taste of success overseas has made the band more determined than ever to spread the message at home."
