Steve Lawson and Jez Carr are set to release their first duo CD, conversations on 22nd April. It can be pre-ordered online from Sounds Good and for those who pre-order there's a special price and a special deal for those looking to buy Steve's solo album at the same time. Steve and Jez have been regular collaborators for a while now, with Jez producing Steve's And Nothing But The Bass... solo debut.
Greenbelt have announced their full lineup in their latest publicity mailings and web site updates which have appeared this week. Headline music acts will be Over The Rhine, Jazz Jamaica All Stars, Faith Folk and Anarchy (Martyn Joseph, Tom Robinson, Steve Knightley) and Delirious??. Also on the music bill are Steve Lawson and Jez Carr (our current featured album), Kevin Max (dc talk), Cephas, Green Jade, Earthsuit, My BottleRockit, Dust, Cathy Burton, Steve, Kosher, Abundant, Ben Okafor, Lies Damned Lies, Airstar, Bell Jar, All Star United, Psalmistry, Julie Lee and many others. Recently returned from a very well received support tour with the 21st Century Schizoid Band (the original King Crimson lineup minus Robert Fripp), Steve Lawson has announced that he will shortly be supporting Level 42 on their next UK tour. In between tours, Steve has been working hard on his second solo album, Not Dancing For Chicken, early copies of which will come with a bonus disc, and preparing for the Solo Bass Network tour where he will be playing alongside Michael Manring and David Friesen. UK solo bassist Steve Lawson has joined forces with US CCM pioneers Ed DeGarmo and Dana Key in an unlikely collaboration. The new trio, who will go under the name DeGarmo, Key and Lawson, hope to attract a legion of new fans with a combination of ambient bass soundscapes and 80s mullet pop. Their forthcoming album is rumoured to include a thrilling bass/guitar duel between Lawson and Key on a cover of the Carmen classic "The Champion".
