Coastal Dune made their second appearance in the Guardian newspaper yesterday when they were included in the Education Guardian's run down of top university bands. All the other bands listed have had significant levels of exposure. The band previously appeared in the paper as part of an article on the new face of evangelical Christianity evident at Durham University. As we reported previously, a documentary on Delirious? is currently in the works. Writing on the band's website, documentary director Hazel said that the team aims "to follow the journey from Studio to release of the next single." They hope to capture the process of preparing, promoting and releasing a new album. No details are given of whether the documentary is intended for Channel 4 as previously rumoured.

U2 won their expected clutch of awards and Juliet Turner showed strongly in the annual readers' poll in Ireland's top music magazine, Hot Press. Juliet was third in the album of the year category behind U2 and The Corrs, fourth in the female vocalist category behind Samantha Mumba, Sinead O'Connor and Andrea Corr. She also came fifth in the songwriter section, won by Bono, polling more votes than Paul Brady, Neil Hannon and Andrea Corr. Bono picked up the best male vocalist award and U2 were voted "Best Irish Group". U2 are set to play in the UK and Ireland this summer, and Juliet Turner is expected to return to the UK mainland in May supporting the Byrds' Roger McGuinn although we're still awaiting confirmation of that.

Martyn Joseph will be joining up with poet friend Stewart Henderson and Christian Aid's Martin Drewry for a special tour at the end of April/beginning of May. The tour which kicks off in Scotland and then travels all round the UK before finishing off on Guernsey is described on Martyn's website as: 'A montage of songs, music, poems and images that convey struggle, hope of the celebration of life and approaches development work in the poorest communitites through the arts. A show in which the edges are blurred and the audience catches glimpses of the way things are, the way things could be, and how they can make a difference'.

We don't normally run a news story on new bands added to the site, but there've been three new ones today and we're also looking for some help gathering information... First up is Maddy Leigh Blues Band who are currently recording an album with Meltdown Music. Another addition is Rif who are currently working on their second album which they hope to release this summer. And finally there's the Alliance-signed Kindle, featuring former Blueberry guitarist Dan Boreham. We're currently trying to track down up to date contact details for Bushbaby and Athlete (formerly Wondercub/Cub), so if anyone can help us out there, do drop us a line. Don't forget you can discuss these and other bands on our discussion boards.

Hot on the heels of the news of his tour with Stewart Henderson, Martyn Joseph is now considering the possibility of releasing a live album from the recordings he has of his tour at the end of last year. There is also going to be a free CD with the next edition of Martyn's fanzine, Passport Queue, containing a recording of the Welsh radio programme 'Lyrics and Landscapes' to which Martyn contributed a number of pieces.

Get Real! have announced a change of lineup with a few original members leaving and Clive Davenport and Yvie Morley joining. The band had recorded a followup to their Futureproof album, which was to be titled Big World, Small Town, but this probably won't release as it is no longer representative of the band. They're instead preparing to return to the studio to record a new EP tentatively titled Small Fish In A Big Pond. The band are hoping to get to Northern Ireland in the near future and are currently lining up a number of live dates -- they've posted some details to our 'Touring' discussion board.
