Britlinks Seeks Help (13th Jul)

Britlinks is looking for a volunteer assistant to work on keeping our gig guide up to date and comprehensive. The site continues to develop quickly, with more new features planned for the coming months, and the support of someone to check bands' websites and ensure gigs are entered in the gig guide would be extremely helpful in keeping the site moving forward. Delirious? Update (13th Jul)

Furious? Records are now taking pre-orders for copies of Glo, the new album from Delirious? which is due for release on July 29th. The band are planning to release the album in the USA in October, supporting it with an extensive tour, and say that while the track order and cover art may be different on the US release, the actual songs included will remain the same. The band are also planning a 30+ date US tour for April 2001.

Psalmistry Need Aspiring Film Stars (13th Jul)

Psalmistry, whose new album All This Noise is released any day now and who have just been added to the lineup for this year's Greenbelt Festival, have recently received funding to make their first video. They have arranged for a director to film with them in Bristol on Saturday August 5th, but they need people to help build up a crowd scene. If you would like to be part of that crowd e-mail the band with the subject line "VIDEO EXTRAS" and they'll send you more details.

Pilots in Douglas Coupland Movie (14th Jul)

The Amazing Pilots have contributed the song "I've Got Wings Irene" to the soundtrack of a film version of Douglas Coupland's Life After God. The band, who recently returned from a successful tour of Ireland say they've also added "some other soundtrack oddities".

The new album from Get Real! is currently in the production stages with producer Clive Davenport. The album has had to be delayed from its original July release date and they now hope to release Big World, Small Town sometime later in the summer. Details can be found at their all new website.

Iona Retrieves Back Catalogue (15th Jul)

Iona are preparing to launch full online sales through their website very shortly, making it easier than ever for fans outside the UK to get hold of their releases. The band have recently regained ownership of their back catalogue from former label Word Music and are apparently exploring the possibility of re-releasing (and possibly reworking) some of the older material independently.

Griff's Farewell (18th Jul)

Greenbelt fringe favourite Griff Pilchard will be making his last ever appearance at the festival on August 25th. The set will include lots of new material and some covers. He will also be releasing a limited edition CD entitled The Very Best of Chamberlain Brown as tribute to his time at Greenbelt.

Universally Booley (19th Jul)

Booley's Bathroom Floor, a former Britlinks indie of the month, is to be released through Universal on September 4th, coinciding with a number of live dates in England and following on from a number of festival appearances planned for the summer. The album, currently available through ICC, is an extended version of the EP of the same name which first appeared around a year ago.

Abundant Summer Ball (19th Jul)

The Abundant club is holding its summer ball this Saturday in Ladbroke Grove. The event coincides with a weekend of action by the Jubilee 2000 campaign, who are holding an "internet day of action" on Friday as well as various vigils and events over the weekend. Abundant have been asked not to use any indoor fireworks this year, after setting off the alarms on multiple occasions in 1999.
