Creation 2000 is the name of a new festival planned jointly by the Edinburgh based promotion company PROScenia and Christian Aid Scotland for October 14th this year. They intend to use the event to profile the best music being produced by Christians in Scotland and raise money for Christian Aid\'s work in the third world. Andrew Coulton, the man behind the new festival has launched a search for artists to play at the festival and asks that anyone interested in playing send demos and biographies to the address listed on the festivals page.

The recent SwampCranks gig in Belgium went well, but Dan Donovan and Mr. Bennett havedecided to shelve recording plans and keep theircollaborations occasional. In light of this decision, DanDonovan will be recording new material very soon.

Work on the new World Without End album continues, and the band have a number of songs prepared for recording, but recording won\'t take place until the end of the year. The full 7-piece band were able to play together for the first time ever, when Kath returned from a year of travelling. She is heading to Mexico for a few months but will be back for the recording of the band\'s fourth album.

The new Howard Jones album will feature former Iona bassist Nick Beggs. Beggs is currently preparing for a string of solo Chapman Stick concerts across the UK. dba are receiving a great deal of support from Sky TV. Sibling have just completed their first demo recording. Zozzy, designer of the original Britlinks logo has some tracks at MP3.com under the name The Love Frequency.

One, IndigoEcho's recent release, has been picked up for inclusion in the HMV catalogue so should be available through all HMV stores across the country as well as on their website. The band are planning to head south for the Greenbelt festival and are also doing a tour of England in November. Contact them if you want to book them for a date during that tour.

NSC have just returned from Germany, where they took lessons and played concerts in a number of schools. The band very much enjoyed their time and are now preparing to play a concert as part of BBC Music Live.

Recently returned from a youth conference in Madrid, Psalmistry have also been going down well in the USA. Their album has been featured on listening posts in Virgin and Tower Records in New York and Chicago, and the band hope to tour the US before long. Meanwhile the second Psalmistry album is well on its way. It will be distributed in the USA by N-Soul and to the UK and European Christian market by ICC.

Iona kicked off their first UK tour in around two years last night at London's Queen Elizabeth Hall. The band also finally had copies of their new album Open Sky -- Alliance Music only received copies of the album that afternoon. The album is due for a US release in February 2001 but the band are hoping to have a secure server set up to sell albums through their website very soon. The much delayed new album from the brothers known as Skinflowers is finally completed and will be released as soon as the manufacturing process is finished. While waiting for the album release the band have been getting involved in local politics trying to build up support for a candidate seeking to reopen the Axiom Centre in Cheltenham and increase arts facilities for the younger members of the town's population.

Tollbooth Music's first release, Helen Turner's Permission will release on Saturday. The former Rumours Are True vocalist will launch the album with a concert at the Irish Centre in Digbeth, Birmingham. Tollbooth Music also plan to have the new Eve and the Garden album released at Greenbelt. Tollbooth main man Paul Davies is currently mixing his solo album Postcards From Aunt Cordelia and hopes to have more news to announce soon.

Booley has been added to the bill for the World Wide Message Tribe concert at the Ulster Hall in Belfast on May 6th. Splat have nearly completed their debut album and hope to have it out at the end of May. Secret Archives of the Vatican will have a track on a new compilation put together by Freedom Music. SAOTV also recently got a good write up on Lycos.

Split Level played what will almost certainly be their last ever UK concert last night in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. Supported by Simon Goodall and local band C*A*S*H*U the band played a set of their newer material. Vocalist/guitarist Adrian Thompson explained that there is no longer the energy to keep the band going with the different members based in entirely different areas of the country, and that the new material he is writing doesn't really suit the band. Split Level will play various concerts on the European mainland over the next five months before calling it a day.

Lancashire's Kato are planning a university tour for this coming autumn, while they prepare for the US release of their album Seasider. Universities will be given the option of either a full set or an acoustic show. Contact the band if you'd like to reserve a date.

Bell Jar recently returned to FFG in Gloucestershire, the studios where they recorded their Secret Volcanoes album last year. They have recorded two new tracks, "It Hurts" and "One Needle" which are now in the hands of Jeff Spencer who is mixing them and the band hope to send out demos to various music industry contacts over the next few months. If there has not been solid label interest by the autumn, they hope to record a second independent album. Bell Jar will be touring with Vigilantes of Love in late May/early June and will appear at this year's Greenbelt festival.

The first Brown Bear Music single, Never Known was launched on Thursday night at the Bear in Deptford. The single includes two brand new tracks, a remix of a song from their Amazed album and an enhanced section, with video, a biography and photos accessible via computers with CD-ROM facilities. With the release of her new album coming ever closer, Juliet Turner has been asked to appear on two Irish TV shows, The Kelly Show (May 12th) and the chart show 2TV (19th May). Juliet will also contribute the track "Beyond The Backyard" (originally heard on her Let's Hear It For Pizza album) to a compilation of in-studio sessions from the Jon Richard Drivetime show on Galway Bay FM. The album also feature Kristin Hersch, Sinead O'Connor, and The 4 Of Us among others.

Room 3 Records are planning to run a venue at this year's Edinburgh festival to showcase a range of Christian artists. The label's three bands, Nervous Passenger, IndigoEcho and Superhero will appear and there are plans to bring in a number of acts, some with an international profile.

Currently on tour with Shirley Bassey, an experience which he describes as a "strange one", Martyn Joseph has announced plans for two new albums. The first will be the long talked about best of and the second will be a part improvised instrumental album which will be available exclusively through Martyn's website.
