New Dawn Music announced recently that Loose Goose are to appear on a compilation album released in Germany by Sony, called Celtic Spirits. The album will feature the Loose Goose track "Back To Avalon" alongside contributions from Clannad, Mary Black, The Dubliners and others. The band's recent album, Face Yourself will be released in Germany through Pila Music later this year. Sixpence None The Richer continue to enjoy success with "Kiss Me", which recently entered its fourth week in the top 10. The band's self-titled album released on Monday to mainstream stores and Christian bookshops across the country.

Mal Pope has released two new albums on Monday. The first, Land of my Children is released in conjunction with an HTV series called "Raised Voices" which started on Sunday. The second, Golden Days is a compilation of 18 tracks from EPs released over the past few years. Both albums have mainstream distribution through Telstar.

Dust have released the follow-up to their See Red EP. Titled Spirit, the EP was recorded with delirious? side-kick Paul Burton at Ground Zero in Littlehampton. The band will be appearing on Channel 5's The Alpha Zone on the 27th June. The show kicks off at 8.30am and also features Sam Fox.

Scotland's IndigoEcho and Nervous Passenger have had a busy couple of weeks. Over the weekend of June 4th-6th they played the Crossover Festival along with Halcyon Days, Fabulous, The Electrics, Booley, The Honey Thieves and more. The event was a great success and plans are already afoot to develop it for next year. The bands also played at a Jubilee 2000 event last weekend in Edinburgh where they drew mainstream press attention. Nervous Passenger have announced they will be playing at this year's Greenbelt festival.

Despite worrying initial reports, Greenbelt 99 received more visitors than expected. The estimated attendance of 6000 is considerably lower than in previous years, but has allowed the festival to break even.

Next year's Greenbelt Festival will return to the festival's historic August bank holiday slot. Cheltenham Racecourse seemed to be a popular move with the Greenbelt faithful, although a few complained about the atmosphere, which took a while to warm up as people got to know the new site.

Greenbelt and Spring Harvest have decided to postpone the Freestate festival for at least another year. The event, which was intended to encourage young people to encounter God through the arts was postponed this year as a result of internal problems at Spring Harvest. A decision as to whether to run the festival in 2001 will be taken within the next few months.

Electrics frontman Sammy Horner has a new album coming out through Word any time now. Horner has taken ideas from his series of Celtic Praise albums, and combining them with techno programming to produce what promises to be an intriguing fusion.

The debut album from Bell Jar is called Secret Volcanoes and is available now. Bell Jar is a band featuring, among others, Paul Northup and Charlotte Ayrton, both former members of Eden Burning. The band's live set at Greenbelt revealed a laid back, sophisticated pop sound coupled with Northup's distinctive vocals.

Kenny Lyon (flute/whistles/harmonica/etc) is to leave the Honey Thieves to work as a computer technician at a school in Pakistan. The band have no plans to replace him as yet, but are courting interest from Asaph Records in Germany.

Split Level have studio time booked and are hoping to record an EP to follow up their last album glo.bal. Initial reports suggest that the EP will see the band returning to a much rawer, almost punky sound rather than continuing in the more produced vein of glo.bal.
