Delirious? Disappointment (21st Apr)

A disappointing album chart position of 25 was the best delirious' Mezzamorphis managed in its week of release, following a mid-week placing of 13. King of Fools reached number 13 in its first week. The album also landed at number 3 in the indie chart and number 10 in the Our Price instore chart. The album release was accompanied by a tour of HMV stores for signing sessions and an instore performance at HMV Oxford Street.

Psalmistry Night at the Thekla (21st Apr)

Psalmistry are putting together a night at the Thekla, Bristol to showcase tunes from their latest release, Armchair Rebellion. Tickets are only �3 for the event which will take place on May 3rd and will also feature a support artist and a DJ set from Johnny Casswell.

Time of our Lives (21st Apr)

It is now just over a week before the Time of our Lives event due to take place in London and organised by the Archbishop of Canterbury's staff. The event is designed to highlight the role of young people in the Church of England, and encourage them to explore the breadth of traditions within the anglican communion. A number of bands and worship leaders will be involved and you can expect a full report to appear here in a fortnight's time.

The Britlinks Band Index has been growing quickly over the last couple of weeks and we have just introduced a new script which automatically codes the submissions which should speed up additions to the website. All new submissions will still be reviewed before inclusion on the website. Bands can be submitted through the Band Submission Form.

The latest album from Maddy Prior, Ravenchild, features Nick Beggs, Terl Bryant and Troy Donockley all of whom have at some point played with Iona. Donockley is currently playing with Prior on her UK tour.

Deliriously Glastonbury (05th May)

Delirious? have announced that they will be playing on the mainstage at this year's Glastonbury festival. The band will appear on the Sunday night and hope that this appearance will help them establish themselves within the mainstream music scene. Glastonbury has previously seen performances by Iona, Eden Burning and Why? but this slot is an unprecedented opportunity for a band who have previously been established within the "Christian music" scene.

Time of our Lives (05th May)

The Church of England's Time of our Lives event happened over the bank holiday weekend and drew a crowd of around 4000 young Anglicans. Featured musicians included LCGC, Why?, dba and Courtney Pine. Unfortunately the independent bands evening was cancelled, which was a great loss. dba are shortly to release their debut single through Howard Jones' label.

Scotland's IndigoEcho will be recording a new album this autumn for a December release and are looking to tour the UK in support of the album during January and February. Sixpence None The Richer's number 1 US hit, "Kiss Me", is gathering momentum in the UK and is set to be released on May 17th. Britlinks have set up a Sixpence UK website which is officially endorsed to carry information about the band's UK activities.

We're putting a major emphasis on the Britlinks Student Contact list at the moment. What we want are students at each university in the UK who are either responsible for booking concerts in their university or who are able to help bands/managers contact the relevant people at their university to get a gig. Featuring Charlotte Ayrton (05th May)

Vigilantes of Love will be returning to these shores to appear at the Greenbelt festival, and will follow this appearance with a UK tour. Due for release soon is an acoustic EP which features Charlotte Ayrton, a former member of Eden Burning. The EP is expected to be released around the beginning of July.
