It was announced on Saturday that the hotly anticipated Freestate festival has been cancelled. The event was to be run jointly by Spring Harvest and Greenbelt but due to "internal problems" Spring Harvest have had to withdraw from this year's event and Greenbelt are unable to continue alone. Both organisations are eager to point out that their relationship is still strong and that they very much regret this cancellation.
Greenbelt has been quick to react by adding new youth facilities to their summer event under the banner "Humanic". The new features include a skate/bmx area, a bring-your-own-vinyl DJ booth and an extended music programme.
These events come alongside reports that ticket sales for Spring Harvest'sEaster-period events are low and that they are also extremely short of stewardsand other staff. Only time will tell how serious these "internal problems"are.

Delirious? kept busy last week following the launch of their latest single, See The Star. Reviews in a variety of publications (including a predictably bad review in Kerrang) and TV appearances on Melinda's Night In (Channel 5) and The Big Breakfast (Channel 4) kept the band busy, while the fans were also busy taking the single to number 13 mid-week. The single entered the official UK top 40 on Sunday 21st March at number 16, having sold 15,000 copies by Saturday evening. This is the highest singles chart placing so far for delirious?

Land are preparing for the launch of their second album, Point Me To The Sky which is due for release in May. From the sounds of the tracks I've heard (a kind of fusion of soul and alternative rock with a meditative vibe) it's definitely one to be looking out for.
