This band has split up
Booley are a band committed to writing and performing songs of intensity and passion, which sometimes rock, sometimes caress, but always inspire. Live, their performances are vibrant, shocking, energetic and above all else, honest. Based in Belfast they comprise of Pete Wilson on vocals and pianos, Dave McCullough on vocals and guitars, Jonny Mitchell on vocals and bass guitar and Ian McMillan on vocals and drums. Influences in the band are varied but others have compared them to Fountains of Wayne, The Wannadies, and a rockier take on Ben Folds Five to name but a few. The band themselves aspire to the full on energy of Foo Fighters, the fragility of Sparklehorse and the songwriting grit of Aimee Mann. A mix up of ideas perhaps but their irrepressible melodies and intense performances will get under your skin and remain.
Seems we fell a little behind on our Booley news. After a number of delays the band released a second album titled Garcon Pamplemousse under the name Benzine Headset before calling it a day recently to pursue other interests. Peter Wilson, the mainstay and singer/songwriter with the band, looks set to start a solo career.
